One person’s serendipity…a great strategy to break into consulting

I get a lot of questions about how to get into consulting if you don’t have any direct experience. Breaking in if you didn’t graduate from a university at which they recruit, nor live in a city where they have a large presence can seem daunting. Before becoming a coach, I spent a number of years in the consulting field. However my path to get there was certainly far from the norm. When I faced that very challenge I realized the path that had led me there was complete serendipity! What had seemed like a chance wandering through my early career had actually led me straight to where I needed to be well-positioned to make that career move.
